Bedford, Mass. – Â鶹ÊÓƵapp has announced the receipt of two significant grants totaling $50,000 from esteemed foundations to support its vital community programs. The Sidney R. Baer Foundation has awarded $35,000 and the Gardiner Howland Shaw Foundation has granted $15,000 to support Â鶹ÊÓƵapp’s Jail Diversion program.
Jail Diversion is a pioneering initiative designed to connect people in crisis with mental health and substance abuse services as an alternative to arrest and incarceration. This collaborative approach embeds mental health professionals directly into the police force, facilitating a joint response to emergency calls. The Jail Diversion Clinician not only assists during critical incidents, but also follows up with individuals to ensure ongoing support and stability.
